Can I change my plan later?

Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. Changes take effect immediately, and we'll prorate any charges.

Are there usage limits?

Limits come from Budgets. On Gateway plans, paid seats fund a System Gateway pool that admins (or Individual workspace owners) allocate as caps per member or API key, and per provider. BYOK stays uncapped by Steinkauz until you set optional Budgets. Chat and the Platform API share the same Budget rules.

What happens if I exceed my inference budget?

When a Budget's remaining allowance for a provider hits zero, further chat and API inference through that Budget stops until the next period or you raise the cap. You can keep working on BYOK providers without a Budget, or on other providers that still have allowance left.

Is BYOK available on all plans?

Accepted Answer

Yes, BYOK (Bring Your Own Keys) is available on all plans. It's the most cost-effective option if you already have provider accounts set up, as you only pay for Steinkauz's platform access, not inference costs.

How does pricing compare to using providers directly?

Accepted Answer

For the Gateway Plan, we don't add any markup to the providers' rates. In BYOK, we don't bill you for the usage at all; you pay your own provider directly.

Can I use Steinkauz programmatically?

Yes. API Access is included on all subscription plans. Use OpenAI-compatible endpoints with Steinkauz API keys: the same models, provider configuration, and Budget rules as chat. See our API Access feature page for details.

Question 7

How does Steinkauz control where my data goes?

Accepted Answer

Steinkauz does not control where your data goes, only you do. With our data routing policy, you set data sensitivity defaults for messages and files and assign provider environment classes to each provider. Steinkauz blocks incompatible chat requests before inference runs. API keys enforce a separate minimum provider environment floor. Is there a minimum number of organization seats?

Yes. Organization checkout requires at least two seats. You choose the seat quantity at subscribe time; Stripe bills per seat on your selected plan.

What happens when we add more organization members?

Accepted Answer

When a billable member joins a subscribed organization, Stripe subscription quantity increases automatically (with proration). On Gateway plans, additional paid seats enlarge the System Gateway pool that admins allocate across members and API allocation after the next successful invoice payment.

Does the organization owner need a billable seat?

Accepted Answer

Not necessarily. Owners can manage billing without consuming a seat, useful for finance or admin accounts. Anyone who uses chat or API inference in the organization needs a billable seat.

Are Individual and Organization subscriptions separate?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Personal context and organizations have independent subscriptions and Budgets. Entitlements follow your active context; switch between Personal and an organization in the app to use the plan tied to that context.
