Conversation Sharing
You can share a conversation with others by creating a share link. Anyone with the link can view the conversation in read-only mode; they do not need a Steinkauz account.
How to share
- Open the conversation you want to share.
- Use the share option (e.g. a “Share” button or menu in the chat header).
- Create a new share link. You can usually choose whether the link includes future updates (so new messages in the conversation appear for viewers) or only the messages that existed when you created the link.
- Copy the link and send it to whoever you want to share with.
Managing share links
You can create more than one share link per conversation (for example, one that includes updates and one that does not). From the share dialog you can copy links and delete links you no longer want to use. Deleting a link means it will no longer open the conversation.
What viewers see
Viewers see the conversation messages (and, if you enabled it, any new messages added after the link was created). They cannot edit the conversation or see your other chats. The shared view is read-only.
Stopping sharing
To stop sharing, delete the share link from the share dialog. The link will stop working immediately; people who had it bookmarked will no longer be able to open the conversation.
